His Story

Our story can’t be disconnected from His story.

We say, “God is Good! Shop at Patton’s!”.

We want you to shop at Patton’s but we really want you to know this good God we serve.

In the beginning, God created man, in His image, to know Him, and to have relationship with Him.   God placed him in a garden and provided all that was needed for life and gave the man a command to obey.  “Don’t eat from that tree.”

The man disobeyed God (sinned), blamed his wife, and tried to hide from God because he was ashamed. Because God is perfectly holy, God can’t be in the presence of sin, their perfect fellowship was broken.  God removed the man and women from the garden and gave them grace in the form of animal skin to cover their bodies.  The man’s sin immediately effected all of his relationships-with God, self, other people, and creation.

We have all sinned and our sin effects all of our relationships too.

Sin has a price-death.  God provided a substitute for us, His very own Son, Jesus.  Jesus lived the perfect life that we could never live.  Jesus died the death that we deserved to pay for our sins.   Three days later, Jesus rose from the grave, defeating death.  His death and resurrection gives us the opportunity to receive (not earn) the free gift of salvation, eternal life with God. Through faith in Jesus our sin debt can be paid and we can experience true life.

Romans 3:23-“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Romans 6:23a-“ The wages of sin is death...”

Romans 6:23b-“but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ.”

Romans 5:8-“God showed His love for us in that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us while we were sinners.”

Romans 10:9-“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved!

We know that God is good because of His presence and provision through this journey.  We know that God is good because He moves people from sin, guilt, shame, and death to hope, joy, peace, and life!   We want you to know and experience this truth.
